Dr. Kirsten Turrisi
Dr. Kirsten Turrisi is originally from North Carolina but fell in love with Maine while attending Optometry school. Her ties to Maine became even more meaningful when her now husband proposed at the iconic Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland in 2017.
Dr. Turrisi earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, graduating magna cum laude in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2012.
Before becoming an Optometrist, Dr. Turrisi had extensive experience in nearly every aspect of an optometry practice, working as a technician, optician, and finance manager. This diverse background provides her with a unique perspective on both patient care and practice management. She then returned to school to become a Doctor and has more than seven years of experience providing comprehensive eye care as an Optometrist practicing full-scope optometry.
Since moving to Maine, Dr. Turrisi has proudly served the Greater South Portland community for the past three years, providing compassionate, patient-centered eye care. She is passionate about full-scope optometry and enjoys caring for patients of all ages. Dr. Turrisi believes that educating patients about their eye health is just as important as treating their vision, because informed patients are better equipped to protect their sight.
With special interests in glaucoma management, diabetic eye care, and multifocal contact lens fittings, Dr. Turrisi combines the latest technology with personalized care to help patients achieve their best vision while protecting their long-term eye health. Whether performing routine eye examinations, managing complex ocular conditions, or fitting specialty contact lenses, she is committed to delivering thorough, compassionate care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Turrisi is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where every patient feels heard, informed, and valued. She takes pride in building lasting relationships with patients and their families while providing exceptional eye care for every stage of life.
Outside the office, Dr. Turrisi enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Together, they love exploring Maine through biking, canoeing, hiking, skiing, and other outdoor adventures.
